After receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Savage practiced in an ophthalmology/optometry group in California for several years. He returned to UC Berkeley to earn his Ph.D. in Physiological Optics (Visual Science).
Dr. Savage worked as a professor in the College of Optometry at the University of Houston for 14 years. In addition to his teaching responsibilities as a lecturer and Clinical Attending in the Primary Care Clinic, he also served as:
Since taking early retirement from academia in 2003, Doc Savage has practiced in the Puget Sound area. He opened Cascade Family Eye Care in the spring of 2006.
Vicki came to work for us in the summer of 2007. She has had over 20 years experience in the eye care profession. Vicki serves as our receptionist and licensed Dispensing Optician. Vicki has an infectious laugh and smile to go with it. You'll feel genuinely welcomed as you enter our office.
Prior to moving to Washington State with her husband in 2003, she had worked over 20 years in the banking industry. Sherry does most of the preliminary testing on our patients and manages the business office. She has a pleasant and gentle manner working with patients of all ages.
You'll love selecting new glasses in our beautiful optical dispensary! We have hundreds of frames on display in all the latest designs, including name brand sunglasses. Some of our exclusive eyewear brands include Coach, Calvin Klein, Nike, Guess, Elle, Tommy Bahama, Sigrid Olsen, Joseph Abboud, Joe, Umbro, and more. Our trained optician will answer all your questions about the various types of lenses, and we'll make sure you have a perfect fit.
We feature a special camera that can take a picture of you in different frames you've selected. In that way, even if you can't see yourself in the mirror with the demonstration frames on, you can put your own correction back on so you can see how you look on the monitor. In fact, if you would like input from family/friends not with you that day, we can e-mail the photos to them for a second opinion!
